Snails & birds & more in watercolours (and clay!)

In Marie's sculpture class someone created a fabulous snail -  the inspiration for our subject of last session!
Vanessa started a lighthearted and sunny painting, with a loose brush stroke.

our remote Aquarellista Michele C.worked from Bretagne on this escargot. I love the glow on its house and the light and shadow

Kingfishers in full flight by Liz! The black dots will be white dots (splashing water) when the masking fluid comes off...

Leonie's kingfisher is soo well done! The movement as well as the delicate pattern, the colours - well, everything. A true watercolour, good stuff, love it.

Jutta finished two hummingbird paintings - and was wearing a hummingbird t-shirt. So much inspiration! Paintings next week - I forgot to take a picture of them after this fun combi...

Carol painted this wonderful image a long time ago, based on a funny photo from the internet. Then sent it to the UK where it was ruined by the postal service. Irreparable. So very frustrating! But now she is giving it another chance and it is looking as lovely and funny!
The third version of Brenda's bent-by-the-storm trees on the Isle of Man. This one is breathtaking, definitely my favourite. It is so simple, yet has the strength, the wisdom, the sun - and a direction.

Bev hadn't been for a while and now finally had the time to finish her sunny painting! It worked out! It may be dangerous for your eyes to look into this painting for too long...

Red dress and golden gloves - a work in progress by Sylvie M. A good job on the red,  a difficult colour to keep interesting on larger surfaces. And a lot is not painted, but your brain 'fills it in'. Looking forward to seeing the next stage!!

And last but by no means least, the white flowers, painted by Maud. Lovely composition, great rhythm and the white is only suggested... Good job!

NB: Apart from all this beauty there were some new and impressive results of the King Tutankhamen Project! I am keeping them for the post of Monday 24 June 3 pm (scheduled already) because I don't want you to miss any of our work but am traveling that week and have no time to post the work created the Tuesday before...
