Bridges in watercolours

Michele very much liked to paint this subject and painted two bridges. This one is amazing and has everything from mystery to reflection. What would it symbolize?

The last Aquarellista sessions were about 'bridges'... They are always a bit mysterious, have reflection and light and are very much symbolic. A wonderful subject. Everyone liked it. Here are the results,  in random order:

Randi painted the loose version of Brooklyn Bridge above. Awesome! and then came back on Thursday and painted her version of the round bridge between the trees. We all love it.

Sylvie D is so consistent in her originality! Even when she paints a bridge it is different from everyone else's. I love this little African bridge, the relaxed warmth and the light!

Vanessa used the same image of the round bridge but her version looks so different! I love the calm appearance of this painting

Romantic and a bit mysterious, this painting by François. In the photo I notice the swans more - and how they are probably going to be fed from the balcony above. Good stuff!
Jutta works with us from home - and we miss her a lot. Luckily we don't have to miss her paintings! Here is her bridge, with a tiny but important little person who almost crossed it already ...

On Thursday Sue created an abstract version based on the same Brooklyn bridge picture. The photo doesn't do it justice unfortunately, the colours are much deeper in the real painting. So Sorry! But luckily it still looks cool.

Celina is so good at converting an example into something that has her own style. This bridge is not yet finished but has 'Celina' written all over it. Super!

Same for Liz by the way, what a movement, passion and light in her bridge and the water! And also a little weirdness available - always good to have that in an artwork 😀.

Anna Karin made her painting in her tyical big-brush style. It is so delicate and at the same time the bridge looks very strong and safe. Beautiful!

The medieval bridge of Cahors by Michele. She created a very good portrait! With an awesome reflection.

And yet another impression of Brooklyn Bridge, in Marie-Jo's style. Really fantastic. What connects them all is the beautiful light!! Great stuff.

Apart from those bridges there was other stuff going on as well! It has been Valentines' day

'From Cari with love' Hi to all from her, she still paints with watercolours and will definitely come back one day!

Jutta has finished her tree with moss - it is so beautiful, poetic and mysterious!! Well done!!

Sylvie D finished her moss- painting. It is so great to see that moss pop out! Beautiful composition too.

Anna Karin had some time left after she painted her lovely bridge, so she started a new poppies-painting! Even half-finished it looks so good...
Françoise also had extra time after her bridge and took two interesting subjects, one quick monochrome with interesting shadow (the water surface is now straught, and a lovely lonely little house on a mountain...

Sonia worked on her washing exercise, and practiced with suggesting volume on the faded colours... She'll stop here - but it actually looks quite good!

and Judith  continued with her wet-in-wet experiments. It is definitely getting her somewhere, and is bringing discoveries and experiences to her - and to all of us!

An abstract watercolour, with excellent colours in it. Is it me or is there a glass of wine in it?  Interesting, and created by Wilma who usually works with acrylics
Thelma finished her impressionist lake-scape with a little red boat and started a portrait of her lovely dog Maia (who was present all afternoon and the resemblance is remarkable!)

Carol was there on Thursday. She worked on her series of mature ladies in conversation. This new painting is finished and like the previous one it is full of humor, with a story for everyone who looks. I hope many more will come, I absolutely adore them!

And a painting in progress by Sue, posted only because it is already visibly 'mossy'!
Result next post!
