Fractals in watercolours - and more

Janine took the idea of a river, that branches itself (which is a forever repeating, growing structure and thus a  fractal) and translated that into an abstract with primary colours.

Sue also used a set of very bright colours for her first fractal shape. It came out really wonderful - and she continued the good work in a different colour tone on Thursday - but always in her recognisable loose style:

Marine started a very fine fractal painting - to be finished next time - it is going to look like a precious bijou!

Corinne's subtle cochlea, with the use of soft complementary colours has so much depth and volume!

Geneviève painted one too (a cochlea) this one from the outside and it is different . We all agreed that this is an amazing painting, with the gorgeous warm red brown accents.

Thecla started with a colourful aquarelle background and then, with a fineliner added the never ending fractal shape - or doodle! Never finished of course
😀

at first sight this painting by Sylvie looks like a cochlea, but it is an optical illusion, no spiral! Shiny grey mother-of-pearl-like circles that put you and your brain on the wrong foot. Love it!

Anna Karin - with the fine-pointed big brush, also had an original take on the spiral and represented it with a pinecone! Almost finished, it is as spontaneous as the come, no drawing and very wet splashes of paint, which leaves the dark borders. Great work.

Judith started with the work above, you can't see it but it is quite large and has many mysterious and infinite visuals. It didn't male her very happy and she started over, with a similar approach, the one below.
It definitely speaks to me - and what do you see in it?

Sonya' s fantastic portrait of a wise, sad, beautiful native American man.

Sandra's tribute to Mahsa Amini has taken a lot of time to finish but now that is has, it is so strong, fantastic! The PIP (Portrait in progress) below is going to be an amazing Dinah Washington, full of contrast.
