Once every 3,4 years we somehow run into this picture, an old example that we used for the first time in 2010 of a beautiful woman with a scarf. Everyone loves her and wants to paint her... here's a previous post about it. Below are the results of last week, with the instruction - you are free to interpret, it is not about the resemblance, it needs to be a believable face...
Thecla painted a loose-style impression and caught the overall 'look' as well as the transparency of the scarf!
Glenda painted this beautiful girl (who resembles her - well, often there are 2 people in a portrait right?! The person you are painting and you!)
Martine painted a beautiful queen-like woman in warm colours with an almost abstract shawl. She doesn't completely trust whatever is happening but she is not afraid of it and ready to fight.
Anne's woman has an amazing transparent scarf and beautiful and determined eyes.
This portrait in very warm tones is created by Laura, it is not finished but already has much expression. Determination mixed with a bit of sadness. It may look very different in the next blog when she has put the accents in!and because the group wasn't crazy big and nobody needed me all the time, I did a small part on a tiny piece of paper. Doesn't look half bad.
And in the meantime of course there was hard work on other subjects aswell:
Anna Karin continued with her lemons. it is not completely finished but having a tree that just began flowering I can tell you that it is spot on, stylised as it is!
And Martine finished her tin. It is so lovely and immediately inspired others. There may be more in the near future...
