EXHIBITION Aquarelles until 14 January 2015

Until 14 January 2015, the watercolours of the Hangar Aquarellista group (13 international watercolourists) will be on display in the lovely Chateau des Demoiselles!

So make sure you visit Les demoiselles one of these months! It is a wonderful opportunity to check out our latest artwork and sample the quality wines of the chateau!
We recommend a visit, a walk through the vineyards and a winetasting, it's really worthwhile!

EXHIBITION From 3 June - 10 June 2013

 

The Aquarellistas are back in Gallery Casablù in Valbonne - and this time we're not having a theme, we have a CONCEPT!

All 50 colourful delicate aquarelles are beautifully framed in the same black or white frames, and every painting has the same price of 50 (FIFTY) Euros, no matter who'se the painter!!

 

That is a very good deal, so come and visit us in Rue Giraud in Valbonne from Monday 3 to Monday 10 June....We're open everyday from 10am - 6 pm and Friday until 9pm

Exhibition MyDNA aquarelles in Nice

Until 1 February 2012, Marina shows an overview of her latest aquarelles in the hippest gallery of the Côte d’Azur, Galerie Oscar in Nice. The theme of this solo exhibition is ‘the mystery of survival’, referring to DNA, cells, fingerprints, portraits and other unique aspects of life that determine a person’s survival and are omnipresent in Marina’s work. The aquarelles are painted with Winsor and Newton on hand made paper, which absorbs the transparent paint in a different way. This makes the repair of mistakes absolutely impossible, but also makes the colours come out much stronger – an effect I love!

Galerie Oscar is a galerie for contemporary, modern art. They work in an original and different way with their artists and for example regularly have events around the art, with speakers, music and great food. They also organize yoga classes in the mornings and arrange art rentals.

Provence in Aquarelle II

As mentioned in the previous post - since last Saturday the Aquarellistas are showing their impressions of the Provence in gallery Casablù in Valbonne... It is a fantastic experience, we have a lot of people visiting, they love it, appreciate what we are doing and we get a chance to tell them about the great qualities of aquarelle...

Yesterday, Sunday, we had our official opening, with champagne and fabulous nibbles by aquarellista/chef Helen Bate. I'm not quite sure how many people showed up, but it felt like there were at least hundred art-lovers!!

And what's more - we are selling! These aquarelles have found new happy homes (and more to follow I bet!!)

Exhibition: Provence in Aquarelle

From Saturday 11 to Friday 18 September, six aquarellista's show their impressions of beautiful Provence in Gallery Casablù in Valbonne. You are most welcome to visit us and have a look, we're open every day from 10 - 12 and from 14 - 17hrs and one or two of us are always there!

Casablù is in the old village of Valbonne, near the Place des Arcades and the famous toyshop in la Rue Eugène Giraud.

Exhibiting are Cathie van der Stel, Helen Bate, Marina Teding van Berkhout, Sandra Seymour-Dale and yours truly, Marina Kulik.

We're going to put up our work coming Friday and I'll be back to you with pictures of what it all looks like, so watch this space!!

Femmes du Monde

It's showtime!! Right now I'm in the Salon d'art contemporain in Valbonne, a big contemporary Art Fair, see also http://www.marinakulik.com/news/; Sunday that will be finished.

Next 6 aquarellista's will show their impressions of "Provence" in Gallery Casablù: count on some posts about that. And I have 6 paintings in Rumania - but I promised you some information about the group exhibition in Nice airport: "Women of the World".

It's on since 30 August, showing all kinds of paintings and sculptures of women from all over the world. I am showing the three portraits I painted for Pink Ribbon, as well as four other women's portraits, all in transparent aquarelle.

The vernissage will be on Friday 1 October and if you have a chance to go, don't hesitate - the drinks and nibbles are great, and so is the artwork!

"Artour" in Villeneuve Loubet

Saturday 19 June yours truly participated in an exhibition meant for business people of "our" Silicon Valley, Sophia Antipolis - the high-tech area of the Côte d'Azur. This one-day activity was organized by my agents from Ambre international and held in the Citadel of Villeneuve Loubet, the property of  Marquis De Panisse.

The location was stunning! It is built in the 12th century and completely renovated in 1900. It is all perfect and inspiring and these pictures do not do the place justice... It is actually quite a romantic place! And not open for visitors... it was quite an opportunity for artists and invitees alike.

 From the remparts there is a 360° view on the sea, the villages, Nice and the mountains.

And around the citadelle is a very well-kept forest that has all kinds of interesting medicinal and rare plants.

We had put up our artwork (paintings and sculptures) outside in the courtyard, the sun was shining and we were giving demonstrations and telling the interested visitors about our work...

And then it started to rain!

I was lucky to have brought lots of plastic, I could cover my precious aquarelles and lend some to my neighbour Michel who makes Japanese-style ink drawings - on paper...

An hour latere the sun came back and stayed for the day. I thought my work looked good in the evening sun with the shadows of the palmtrees!

Poetic Portraits exhibition

The Poetic Portraits exhibition of the Marina Artist Team in Casablù in the heart of Valbonne is still on and will last until Friday 12 February PM. Don't miss your chance to check out their great aquarelles!

The show opened with a very well visited vernissage! We made a lot of new friends, did good business and received so many compliments! Rest assured we'll stay modest and realistic as aquarellista's go - but the fact that aquarelles can get these positive comments, even from non-connaisseurs, did us good!

So here's a proud picture of us with one of our youngest models (see the portrait below)...

"Les petits formats" in Valbonne

As mentioned in the post below, I am working on a couple of new ideas, and some of the studies for that are in the "petits formats" show in Valbonne.

"Perles" - a serie of studies inspired by the designs I am making for a dutch jewelry maker

"Solitaire" - not sure what this is going to develop into, but for now it is quite symbolic - silhouettes of women alone, with the wide wide world in front of, next and behind them

"Roses" as you may know them from me - only smaller sizes...

It is an exhibition organized by the Artothèque: fifteen of "their" artists show small size work, paintings, prints, sculptures, drawings, collages, raku -and aquarelles- for very attractive prices. It is very well visited and I have already sold 3 aquarelles- but there are still a lot left and the Christmas sales haven't started...

If you have time, make sure you go there and have a look, because apart from my petites aquarelles, there are also the necklaces that I design for the dutch brand Merrl TM (cost price!) and of course work of the other artists of the artothèque, amongst them well known ones like Sally Ducrow, Noël Monmarson and Daï from Nice.

There has already been a lot of publicity, two articles in Nice Matin, announcements on Riviera Radio and lots of attention in the local magazines.

"Fingerprint"

Anyway - whether you are just interested in what local artists create, want to invest in art or buy unique Christmas presents for your loved ones - you shouldn't miss this!! Go have a look in Valbonne, the expo is in the Salle Saint Esprit, next to the church. I will be there and happy to meet you all on Wednesday and off and on on the other days.

Free entrance from 10AM until 6PM every day until 24 December. NB: The famous Valbonne Christmas market starts the 22nd...

Waterlilies in Chateauneuf

Anna Karin Fast worked for a long time on these "pebbles"... It is an interesting development to follow, with the pebbles attracting more attention because the background is contrasting more... 

Again we were a small group of die-hards last time. Same reason as last week for most - flu, nasty colds and other winter-illnesses hit hard at the moment! But the aquarellista's-present, did a great job on yet more impressions of Chateauneuf!

Sandra Seymour-Dale started on a very interesting watercolour - can't wait to see the finished product!!

Cathie van der Stel finished this fabulous and romantic door in the village...

And Birgitta Engvall did it again - what a mysterious, quiet atmosphere!

We also worked on another subject, "water lilies". Not all of those are finished, you'll see them in next post, but two are definitely worth showing now!

First of all Denise Holt visited. Originally French, she lives and works in the US. She is an aquarellista too and as long as she is visiting France, she'll work with us! Here are her water lilies:

Deep Sea II

There were still two loose ends in the Deep Sea project... Anna Karin Fast added a bit more accent to the "hinted" eyes of her clown fish...

It worked!

And I didn't show you the "unfinished project" of Cathie van der Stel in the last post, but right now I will!!! She worked hard on it this week and the result is positively stunning...

You can rest assured that this will be shown in the next exhibition. I love this picture of a figure seen from under water!! Well done Cathie...
