Precious stones in watercolours

The subject of last week was 'Happy Stones', the gem stones that go with your birth month, or your zodiac sign. But it is also difficult - and takes a lot of time.

During the covid period I created one, and filmed it:

And here's the blog with the results of that project:

And here's what you did last week:

Thecla's ruby or garnet -  so well painted and precise. I can see she understands stones

Geneviève's Aquamarine (Aigue-Marine) she painted loosely and inspired!

Martine painted her own 'Cristal de roche' . Not everybody agrees, but we both think that a painting of your birthstone will bring even more protection, and peace and happiness to your heart
💗

So far for the stones - there will be more next week! Sylvie and Judith both worked very hard on sketches and other preparations, but no photos yet and then there were other wonderful watercolour adventures:

Visitor Maria is a professional artist from Sweden and she is artistically researching 'Icebergs'. She did just that during our session, in the technique that we once tearnt from Anna Karin ( who happens to be her mother) where the three primary colours are replaced with similar ones, that also have interesting other qualities, like granulation or leaving strong borders. The painting you see above, was created with a lot of water and changed very much in the 3 hours id dried in the air...

And here is more work by Maria, all created in one afternoon, with some tweaks the next day before she went back to Sweden...

And then I caught the flu, was in bed the rest of the week feeling as if I'd been run over by a truck. So sorry, but no extensive comments, just you, enjoying the beautiful works and having your own thoughts about them... That's good too right!?!

Anna Karin's tulips, they are completed and I think they're wonderful

Anne Exercise and wisteria

Fantastic trompe l'oeuil by Anna!

Two of Sandra's magnificent portraits - more will follow!
