'Pots & pans' in watercolours

The story of the little red pan - another inspiring children's book illustration by Judith

Our paintings of King Tutankhamen will soon be finished and I will post about that, I promise. I can tell you that the results are amazing, and, as predicted, all so very different! In the mean time we worked on a more mundane subject - pans and casseroles. And as could be expected, the paintings are awesome! The Aquarellistas rule!

Jutta took a different viewpoint and started whole set; Very well done on the 'old metal' part, Love it!

Copper is so beautiful, and difficult - Carol was one of the Aquarellistas who took the challenge. And although not yet finished, the metal is already so real!!

Glen also painted a set - in a colourful composition. Looking so lovely and what a rythm..

Catherine painted this old battered baking pan out of hand, in a couple of layers, and did a marvelous job with the light, the shadow and the metal shine.

Of course you recognize the sturdy style of Liz in this set of copper pans - that still has quite a delicate look actually. Awesome!

And then there are the 'other' watercolours, often coming out of true inspiration. I am always very happy with the 'own ideas', the subject I prepare is meant to inspire, but not mandatory at all...
These old bent trees on the Isle of Man lived a long life in the strong winds. They are wise and beautiful as you can see on this painting by Brenda

Chicken and rooster couple by Maud - well done with the magic light and the composition!
