Experiments with Masking Fluid - and more in Aquarelle

This stunning aquarelle was created by Jutta. It is so mysterious and tells at least one story, about a peaceful forest with so many secrets. And one girl who sees it all...

Who would have thought that a stinky sticky latex fluid could help create such wonderful work! The Aquarellistas experimented with masking Fluid last session and the paintings that came out of it are so beautiful - have a look for yourself
Françoise is a new Aquarellista - but not new at the technique. She did a wonderful job on her masking-experiments. I really like them, especially the fish 😊

The watercolour above is so wonderful and delicate! It was created by Michele. I love the whites as much as the colours. And the painting below is subtle as well, the background very interesting with the salt.  Still a bit cold but nothing that a yellow heart won't repair

Glen worked on several projects! Here's one, very interesting layered with yellows and greens. And white as soon as the  masking fluid is removed...

Randi did her exercises and on top of that worked with the others with masking fluid. What an energy - and it's looking good!

Monica experimented in many ways and this is the best! Paper, paint, masking and salt...

Sonya used a combination of masking fluid (first) and masking tape (afterwards) to create this icy weeping willow

This dreamy watercolour with a lot of depth, was created without ant masking fluid by Celina. I love it!
Sue painted one watercolour with  masking and salt. The little girl looking at the treetops is fantastic and so are the colours! The other one is a work in progress, without masking fluidand promising!

In the meantime, there were also some other projects going on, paintings finished and exercises done!

Celina almost finished her hourglass - it will in the last stage reflect the blue sky... . It is so shiny and contrasting with that rough wall. Great stuff

Randi worked with masking fluid - and also finished two exercises. The first was meant to achieve volume and I can safely say that she managed that! (Although she was not over the moon with the result). The other exercise is about layers - and she nailed that one too!

This Tuesday's 'Outcast' table was so inspiring, and interesting work was produced, this gorgeous lakescape for instance came from Sandra's brushes

At this moment Judith paints purely for the colours, shapes and effects and these are two of the results. They remind me of tornado's and they are so strong with their colours! Most important: Burnt umber and Peacock blue

Jutta's Edwardian woman is now perfect.
A subtle bit of colour added, together with a slightly darker background.

And you may remember Sonya's deer, she started it in December - and finished it over the holidays.
I love how it worked out,, the beautiful details and that expression!
