Dolphins in Watercolours

This beautiful dolphin forms one inseparable shape with her young. Painted by Carol. It looks very much deep-sea!

Since last week we have our Corona-adapted sessions with less aquarellistas - on a good distance of each other! Some stay at home (or are stuck in another country) but how wonderful: everyone works with us! So you can see a lot of work in this post, and it is coming from all over France...

Sarah was there again, she chose to work with us on the dolphins. The dolphins are still covered in masking fluid - but look at that sea, so well painted!

This amazing light is painted by Louise. If you take a closer look you can see a dolphin, happily jumping in the foreground, I also love the island with the paln tree!

Michele works with us from Bretagne - and she created these lovely dolphins, beautiful and smooth moving through the blue waters

Another work in progress, this looks to me a cold northern sea, very well painted by Hélène, with two dolphins. Can't wait to see the finished version!

Sooo much to see in this surrealistic watercolour! Created by Jutta, with use of a little salt below right. The dolphins are diving and there is so much movement! Very good.

Talking about 'movement' in paintings, this one certainly has it too. Created by Ina, who joined us on Thursday for the first time - and with succes!

What a cuddly dolphin with a sweet, funny face. Painted by Randi on Thursday - she hadn't painted for 3 months and was afraid that she would have lost the ability. She hasn't!

Sonya's dolphin duo! Fabulous light on the water surface and you can feel the speed with which they are progressing. Smashing and very good '3D' effect because of the shadows and the darker blue.

Dancing Dolphins by Celina, with love from Norway. Love the spontaneous background, great contrast with the smoothness of the dolphins!

Louise also worked on another fish, a clever idea to work on 2 paintings at the same time so that you can let one dry while you work on the other one...

In the meantime...
Sue created a first draft of a watch with memories and a deeper meaning. This is a quick and loose version, to check out colour combinations. To be continued...

This awesome watch was painted by Sonya. She started last week and finished it at home, where she used the scratching technique for the highlights - with a very strong effect. Superb!

Liz worked on the inside of a watch. it is an amazing composition of small gears and screws and it is very attractive! knowing her talent for metal I expect a fabulous result!

Sandra also worked at home and this very interesting wor k (that I interpret as a landscape - I hope I don't have it upside down this time 😝

Cathie is doing research for a new line, that has the same depth in colour and texture as the poppy pods, but now with delicate flowers... Below a first try. Interesting huh!

Anna Karin is on her way to Sweden if you read this. We will miss her! But on the other hand, the Scandinavian summers are so great, it is understandable that she wants to go there from time to time 💖. Hopefully she will return somewhere in September.

Judith was experimenting as usual, and the results of this week are pretty spectacular if you ask me! Simple brush strokes in different beautifully transparent colours

Next to her dolphiins, Sarahh also worked on the next watercolour exercise, meant to create volume. And she nailed it with the stripes! Totally believable volume there

Hélène is still inspired by the compositions she worked with in Pim's drawing class. Here we see the triangle! in watercolour and felt pen
