Autumn Leaves in watercolours - and of course more...

This outstanding, colourful autumn leaf with a bright sun through the trees, was 'loosely' painted by Sue. Absolutely Fabulous!!

The still life, the basis for Anna Karin's painting of next week. (At this point it is just a drawing)

Our last 2 pre-Lockdown sessions were so successful. Packed with emotion, which may have helped, and very convivial, with excellent cookies and ginger- and verveine tea. The watercolours -as you can see- are awesome! Our theme-de-la-semaine was Autumn Leaves. Many were inspired and then of course there were the other paintings - and work in progress, and the last illustrations for our Cookbook, and more.
Enjoy!!

A completely different interpretation, but very 'Autumny' and certainly beautiful, even before it is finished... A negative space-watercolour  by Celina

Jutta is working on a fantastic branch with autumn leaves.

Katy's autumn leaves are transparent, warm in colour and you see them move in the wind...Super!

More autumn leaves in watercolours, aren't they great?! These are painted by Martine and believe it or not, Katy and she are starters! (see below)

Randi created this awesome autumn leaf, using her black talens masking fluid, which still passes our critical testing.

Wilma (who usually paints in opaque media) did a great job on her version of warm and transparent autumn leaves!

Thelma painted two versions of the same autumn landscape. Both Amazing, Attractive and Atmospheric in their own way

In the meantime...

Anna Karin finished her illustration to go with a gorgeous apple crumble recipe in Le Aquarellista Cookbook. And it was also her version of last week's theme - 'steamy windows'

This is Celina's impression - the fog is partly wiped off and opens up to an interesting and quite Nordic landscape...

Michele works with us from home and had a similar interpretation. I love it that the left under part is still foggy and also the very wintery atmosphere...

Liz finished the brilliant 'view on Opio' - it aleady has some stylized parts - and she decided to paint an even more abstracted version. Below you can see the start of it!

Randi tried out her new Talens masking fluid with this snowy landscape with pinetrees. The masking was on the painting for a week - and came off with ease. Another box checked!

Katy finished her 'volume exercise with a clever use of foreground and background. All the volume parts have worked out and it shows her creativity!

Martine's Volume exercise is really well-executed! The white gives a nice 'see-through' effect and the voluminous bulbs look like balloons

And last but by no means least, starter Hanne has just had a taste of what we are about - and now has to wait until after the Lockdown to actually join and get everything out of it... Well, the exercises look very promising indeed!!
