Challenge 11: Shards - and of course more, in watercolours

Shards by Anna Karin. With the use of salt, I am impressed!! What a wonderful and original take on things - as always!!

The latest Aquarellista challenge was to paint beautiful shards, followed by a demo on the use of salt in your watercolours. And here are a couple of results - as well as some other, also very welcome and seriously interesting aquarelles!!

Aphrodite emerged from the waters' a fabulous 'Shard' by Michele... So well done, those shadows, the mysterious see-through eyes, it is broken and only a part, but the brain fills in the rest of the picture, doesn't it? Well done!

Sue painted these broken pieces and seeing it I was convinced that there was a memory to go with it, that's how much emotional load it has. Such a good picture, with the use of salt.
And not a memory: it came from internet 😛

Ingrid from the LA group practised her hand after a long absence - and she clearly hasn't lost the ability! these shards look so real! Love 'em!

In the meantime, other Aquarellistas are creating very interesting and inspired 'other' paintings

Judith, more wild portraits...
She is really on to something!

Sonya is working on a beautiful personal painting of a little pilot-to-be!
