Ceramic fish in Watercolours - in memory of Isola Maggiore

Geneviève painted her version of the ceramic fish next to a front door in Isola Maggiore! The strong shadows and the rough stones on the wall make it look like the real, sunny, Italian thing! Well done!

Unbelievable, how Anna Karin always comes up with an original take on the subject!! The composition is great on many levels, it looks very much like deep sea, the choice of colours is great. One word - fabulous painting!

This funny and expressive ceramic fish was created by Martine. She's pretty new with watercolours - and an experienced painter. It is clear that she 'understands watercolours too, and that there is already the beginning of a certain style.

great news:  Sylvie found her way back to our atelier, and painted as if she had not been 'out of it' for 2 years...

Maia is completely new at watercolours but has a creative spirit and after the 'spheres' exercise (see below) she painted these happy ceramic fish with lots of lipstick on!

And last but not least, here is Sue's magnificent ceramic fish with awesome light! It makes me happy to look at it. Great job!

In the meantime...

Brenda used some paint to improve a painting she created 'live' in Castiglione. The look through the arc is very much how it was!

Add same for Bev, she improved some of the details and it now has the exact same atmosphere as the actual street. It was really this peaceful - she painted it during lunchtime with no one outside 😃

You saw Maia's fish above - here is her first ever watercolour, our starters exercise! Doesn't it look wonderful?!

And another one, by Anna. Well done and funny to see how the exact same exercise looks different, interpreted by 2 different painters... Love it!!

Of course Sylvie also treated us to one of her East Indian women! Looking lovely as always, and more or less new are the great colours, extra strong because they are complementary (orange and blue)

What a lovely bunch, the kids of Brenda's cleaner! She created such a good atmosphere in this little aquarelle. Is closes a wonderful season, she is going back home until spring next year.

Jutta has been crazy busy with other stuff but had the time to finish her wonderful and original version of a poster.. The blackboard, a great idea has an interesting and philosophical question!

Judith painted this lovely drip-doodle. It looks playful, and very transparent.
And after a bit of thought, she turned it around to see what happened.
I love these kinds of experiments, both pictures are deep, and poetic but with a completely different message.I prefer the last one. Which one do you like best!
