Watercolours en famille in Atelier M

Please scroll down to see the usual Aquarellista post

Sometimes really nice things happen when you don't expect it! We have a watercolour atelier every Thursday in Atelier M and last time, everyone had to cancel for excellent reasons, like holidays, babies and doctors' visits... And then Aquarellista Marie asked if she could come with her family! Long story short, they have been and it was one big fabulous adventure! The girls are only 5 and 7 but so clever!

they started out helping me with the logo:

Juliette's coloured version

Amelie's terrific logo - I love this one!

Then they worked on the 'spheres' exercise, where you leave the highlight white, and use a dark shadow in a consistent angle, and 'drip in' some other colour for the shadow on the object. And this was what happened:

Amazing, this version by wild abstract kid Juliette (5). Note how all balls are exploding.

Big sister Amelie (7) completely understood the exercise and created a super image, that exceptionally looks better in real life than on the photo

Gran Lena showed her spontaneity in yet another way, and created an interesting composition. O interpret it as some kind of board game where everything is in place!

Because there was time left, Amelie made a painting for her room with her name in watercolour-letters!

Juliette finished off with a bright red splash in the shape of a heart and very watercoloury background.

And lastly, Marie, who I know is very much like Juliette, but spends serious time being more precise. This painting is a lovely mix of the two styles, the colours are stunning and I am sure this will lead to lots of new and inspiring works!!
