Landscapes in Watercolours

Celina is back, here's her awesome landscape with trees and light. One of the things she wanted to try out was having natural jagged edges on the trees to the left. This she did by tearing the masking tape in half! It worked, and then a toothbrush with paint for spontaneous splashes. On the other half of the paper she  painted a landscape, really fast! That's what we call 'having fun with watercolours'!

The latest Tuesday aquarellista-session had 'landscapes' as theme. Open for everybody's interpretation and taste. We had fantastic fun - as you can see above and below, the results are not only very beautiful, they are also personal - and different!!

Our lovely correspondent from Bretagne, Michèle, sends us all warm greetings and this wonderful little view on 'her' sea, simple and calm. I love the little boats and I am very enthusiastic - she calls it "Une paysage breton fait trop vite" 😄

One word for Geneviève's seascape: Stunning! Great mysterious light, and the object on the left (a buoy we think) gives extra perspective

Janine is working hard on the exercises in the starters program, and here is the 'layers' exercise! A landscape that exists of 4 layers and although she wasn't a fan, Janine actually created a wonderful looking watercolour - good job! Especially the skyline with orange windows is very well executed.

This is only the beginning of Jutta's landscape, based on an existing view, where the sun was going down with a lot of dramatic colour and contrast. Can't wait to see it finished!!!

Martine has presented us delicate, poetic and precise watercolours in the past weeks. Last session she worked on this amazing, colourful and brave version of a landscape. It is not yet finished but already strong and graphic. It will be the inspiration for next week's subject...

Just in: two landscapes (Into the woods) by Judith! as always, very experimental, vaguely reminiscent of the veils... The red used here is beetroot juice!!

In the meantime...

Sylvie started another portrait of an Eastern woman, it is such a good choice for her and it fits her like a glove. But she can also do other stuff, as you can see below, how happy and colourful is this abstract!

One more Kintsugi, to indulge me... It comes from Randi and I love it!
Magic done with the gold-suggestion!

Super refined and transparent poppies from Randi, she's so good at them!! and another version, with gold leaf added. Kudos for the picture, it is so hard to photograph gold, but she did it!! Fabulous painting Randi!!

... and then it was Halloween...

... so, how about this awesome velvet pumpkin by Sue! Well done, fantastic. A cross between her 'loose' brushstrokes, and great control... Iamma proud of you!!

More Halloween  through Randi - who did a quick'n easypumpkin in jus a couple of wet-in-wet brush strokes - and then this super creepy clown. It is red paint on him - but still!!!
