Last session the Aquarellistas have learnt a new way of thinking about and looking at water and paint by following the instructions of Anna Karin. We have been splashing and moving our paper-with-wet-paint around, in a technique that works super well if you have plenty of space and a cover on the floor 😃.
No cauliflower effects unless you want them, lots of salt and only 3 colours in certain combinations of a red shade, a blue shade and a yellow shade. Like Paynes grey, Opera Rose and raw Sienna. Or Indigo, Raw Sienna and Brown Madder. Or Cobalt, raw Umber and Alazarin Crimson etc etc...
Here's a part of Anna Karin's demo - NB - she uses the combi of Payne's grey, Raw Sienna and Opera Rose...

After she was done, the painting was still wet and looked dark, with blobs of salt - and then it dried and changed a lot. Just so you know, salt keeps changing the effect (until it has completely dried and you can easily blow or knock it off)
and here are some of the (awesome!) results and interpretations - I couldn't be more proud!!
