Portraits in watercolours

In both watercolour groups the subject was 'portraits' - but it was either 'just a face' or a portrait of two loving, older human beings. You can expect more of that in the coling weeks (except next week when we will go crazy with another Anna Karin- project!

A Portrait in Progress by Sue - she will refine and complete it, keeping her 'loose style' intact! Can't wait to see the final version!

Ingrid finished her beautiful elegant and mysterious dark lady

The other Aquarellistas portrait-ed 'older couples'. Here's the version of Genevieve, well done with the wideness of the landscape and the colours.
Fun to see how the same inspiration-photo can result in such different paintings!

Anna Karin used the same input - and in her version there is dreaminess. The atmosphere is very calm and peaceful.

Sylvie did a marvellous job on these two, walking up with their sticks in the bright sun, together holding their shopping bag
💗. Marvellous

Michèle's couple has plans to go out tonight. Judging by the long shadows it has been a good day. Supersweet!

Jutta's old couple have a connection, they look in love - and he has plans for tonight by the look of it.

As the group wasn't big I had time to do a quick version too. Love the subject, love his arm around her!

In the meantime there were other lovely, original and clever paintings created!

Olga is the new girl in town, she painted the welcome exercise, she is not afraid to go big - a great start!!

Sandra used the Thecla-technique of using pure paint right out of the tube, let dry and the use lots of water. Unexpected stuff comes out - 'happy accidents at its strongest- and the painting above is not even finished! Sandra also painted the breathtaking sail-action below. Wow!

Brenda had some work that she created during the Hangar Autumn Trip to les Alpilles (Blog to follow shortly!) and she added some water and some paint to it to enhance shadows. Afterwards she wasn't sure if they improved because of it - but I think they are much stronger now.
