Pouring Watercolours, with the use of a garden hose. Great fun - with Anna Karin

Last Tuesday, Anna Karin hosted the watercolour session. She explained about a technique, where you use tape as a shape, mix lots of paint (in yellow/red/and blue tones) with lots of water, so that you get a strong grey. When the mixture is finished, pour it on the paper, turn it around to let it spontaneously flow. Then let it dry a little bit in the sun, and as soon as the borders are visible, get the... garden hose!! and spray with power on the artwork. Imagine the fun!! ANd then behold the effect of the mixture-colours becoming visible again (the red, yellow and blue tones) Then let dry again.

That's where we are. Next week we'll have a good look at what's produced, see the direction (landscape or portrait) and then add whatever is needed to make it into something that you actually like and that it is recognisable as yours.

I did not take pix of Tuesday's individual works but here's a movie:that gives an impression

and a group-picture

On Thursday we repeated the experiment, without Anna Karin... We missed her dearly - but still, it gave a lot of insight and we learned from our mistakes. Also it became clear that the masking tape has the role of 'a window'. More next week  - and I hope I've got the names correct, it is SO abstract!

We also worked on 'Autumn leaves' and 'portraits' and will continue next time. I will post the pictures next week - and keep this post about brave, abstract watercolour...

THANK YOU ANNA KARIN
