by Judith. We all agreed this was very, very good.
The last portrait session was a bit different from the previous, where our goal was to 'intuitively' create a watercolour portrait, while learning about proportions, creating skin colours, getting the features right - with 'resemblance' as a result.... Not important in this last session (suggested by Celina - we're so grateful!). The goal was mainly to have fun and be free with shapes and colours. By drawing a self portrait with fel pen, looking in the mirror and not looking at the paper while drawing. The results were very different, minimal resemblance of course, but mostly - SO original!! Look above and below and enjoy 😍 O, and I promised to mention that we did not use any drugs during creation 😎.
by Sue. Everyone was especially smitten with the first one!
by Geneviève. Difficult choice, second version with looking at the mirror...
by Celina who actually has achieved a bit of resemblance there!
by Anna Karin. Awesome painter and drawer, her portrait is bearing resemblance (non flattering) despite the fact that she did not even once look at the paper, and then those typical AK accents and colours!! wow...
by Corinne. Corinne had initially not understood that the idea was to not look, so her first portrait has a strong likeness: the next ones are done without looking, and quite spectacular!
by Janine. Who admitted this wasn't really her thing, but we all Adore the second one!! such fun!
by Sonya. Who really enjoyed this project - so much that she did a last one at home (quote: "worn out, and bearing a weird resemblance to King Charles")
by Ingrid. I am in awe about the expression, about how she perfectly shows how difficult it is to look at your own face in the mirror while drawing. Super!
by Marie. Who loved painting more than drawing and did a great job on the colours.
Love the heart shaped eyes!
And then there were some serious portraits to be finished:
Janine has finished the very accurate, warm hearted and lovely portrait of her daughter
Same goes for Judith, who worked hard and steady to create this delicate and subtle portrait.
Sylvie is creating a watercloour of an adorable girl with a lot of character
And last but by no means least, the 'other work'
Celina, one step further towards finishing her graphic village
Breathtaking winter wonderland village, painted by Ingrid
And Judith continued the experiments. Whatever it is, it is so open, attached, yet free -and peaceful. I guess she is in a very good spot.
Marie painted candy in wraps in the time that she had left after her portrait. They symbolize this period quite well actually
And Sonya did the same, painting a horse that we all found superb.
I love the eyes, and the bum is exactly in the right place, not easy!
But according to Sonya (who really knows horses) she has done better and she wasn't too proud..
