The subject de jour was inspired by celebrations and parties, because so many of us have their birthdays this month! It was quite successful and amazing watercolours were created, - and also some cards, on um-stretched paper.
I am one of them and I received this beautiful card, painted by Anna, with the background cut out. And on each little flag there was the name of one of the Aquarellistas. Super cool!!

one of the amazing paintings by Anne
Beautiful party bows by Michele! I love them, so shiny and at the same time modest!
Anna worked on more versions of greeting cards
Fabulous painting by Ingrid - great background
Hanneke painted this fabulous card, with an inside that is just as beautiful
Brenda painted these garlands in a very firm and beautiful Brenda-style. Love it!
Martine's line confetti
Amelia's round confetti (seen through blurred lens, what a great idea for a background!)
Laurence could only join us this week - such a pity, as she is very good as you can see from her version of the spheres exercise. Delicate and great proportion!
And here's the reason for all that party-stuff, it was my Bday! I was spoiled with all kinds of lovely gifts, one of them an unbelievably good chocolate-zucchini cake with candle!!
another original painting byAmelia, again so original, 'a different view'
Leonie is a true daredevil artistically and she experimented with colours and shapes...
these two are also Leonie's! An experiment below, using tape to create the shape of a frame, with a delicate flower painting inside and the eye in the sky.

Judith has embarked on another portrait project, here still in the early stages - but the resemblance is excellent, exciting! More next week...
And Sylvie, the monochrome contrasted portrait specialist, repainted her selfie on a canvas by way of experiment. It actually looks good. Note that this is non-prepared canvas! Be careful using it because if you breathe too hard the paint comes off. Always protect with fixatif (or varnish or cold wax)when finished.
Avril shows us foreshortening and that she can draw cute dogs!
Anne is still practising at home - and that pays off, this is a practice-piece and this inspires for a future subject for all, lanscape and reflection!!
Sonya is not overly keen on this one, but I see sparkling light and lots of movement. Very light and happy, this one!!
And last but not least this practise picture by Avril, who after a year is getting back into the qualities of watercolours...
