Beautiful fruit (and a vegetable) in watercolours

Here's an account of the latest Aquarellista get-together, where we (or most of us) painted fruit. It was a wonderful session!

Anna painted lovely young carrots and did a really good job on that! Well painted and a lovely atmosphere.  Outside it is autumn but this painting is very much spring. Well done!

Charlie painted this papaya in layers and I find it awesome, it has so much zen and the colours are spot on. Love it.

And another amazing painting by Anne. She may give the background a light blue wash but the real work is done and looks amazing!

Glen painted the juicy spring berries that grow in her garden and have another name that I forgot, sorry! Anyway, very visibly full of juice, magnificent colour and graphically interesting!

Roxane gave the pomegranate a try, from a real one, and created 3 versions. All excellent, hard to choose a 'best'...

Next to the fruit, there were of course ongoing projects and personal subjects:

Laura finished her version of the lady with the scarf. I love what she has done, it is her own version but actually also has a strong resemblance to the original.

With three lines, Sandra perfected her landscape above. Watercolours on canvas with gesso, which adds interesting texture. And she finished the amazing lotus leaves. There is still some thinking going on, about a bit of tiny text along the stems... We'll see.

Sylvie started another large size painting with pots, these are the first stages, it is going to be a colourful collection!

Our subject-theme for next week will be 'Christmas Cards' and Ingrid already created one! A lovely and funny one, very original and so well painted!
