Strawberries à la Chaillou (and Christmas cards)

Most Aquarellistas are working on Christmas cards, finishing them and tweaking and writing on them with gold and glitter. But next to that we will work accordibg to the instructions of wet-in-wet master Jean Claude Chaillou.
You can see him at work here (19 minutes)

And here's my own video where I give it a try

We started with his strawberries and pears:

We all loved this first version, by Corinne. She thinks it looks like a mango and will try to bring some more light in it. Hopefully more next week!

Anna's strawberry is already great in shape and colour cool - but the texture is not yet finished, As soon as the pips are in, it will be so yummy!

This is very much up Sue's loose-style street! She painted this strawberry and then a variety of pears... Absolutely gorgeous and better with each new version!

Anna Karin finished her Christmas cards designs. The Christmas trees are original but I  am especially fond of the baubles!

Laura's two cards are now finished! The tree has more glitter, and the puppies, o they are so cute!
Colours are perfect now by the way...

Anna's last card is now finished, it has surprising depth and it shines and it is definitely worth being printed and sent out to all friends!

Michele created a whole bunch of cards, don't they look good! So original and funny. Her friends can look forward to receiving those lovely wishes...

In the meantime other excellent paintings were created and finished! As mentioned above, in the coming weeks we will more or less work in the style of Jean Claude Chaillou, known for his wet-in-wet style and  Roxane, Sonya and Barbara successfully tried their hand at a wet-in-wet landscape, without any instruction! To be continued...

Roxane took an example of Chaillou's work and did a wonderful job with this soft light. The wetness and flowing colours are very well visible

Using several Chaillou techniques, like turning the wet painting around and a water spray Sonya has been passionately working on a couple of versions of Northern light. She was 'not unhappy' with this version (while we were cheering) Amazing right?!

Barbara worked from her own imagination and flowed the happy bright yellow into the soft mist. Then added some branches and an amazing mysterious entrance in the fairytale castle, in wet on dry style. The combination works!

The creator of this fabulous still  life with jars is Sylvie! We all agreed that the light is amazing and that the orange pot is brilliant in this composition!

As always, something original by Thecla. It is soft, sweet, transparent and intelligent and I love the purple shape left below (if you look closer you will see the imprint of the kitchen paper that she used to get rid of the excess paint. Great effect so she kept it!

Judith did one more portrait in pastel and this fluffy little man is the wonderful result. But no worries you Aquarellistas, she is back, stronger than ever! Here's a gorgeous WIP to prove it:
