Weekly Aquarellista Challenge 9: Velvet Ribbons

I am so happy that we are going to see each other again soon! Things will not be back to normal yet, with masks and constant sterilizing ๐Ÿ˜ and only 10 Aquarellistas myself included, but it comes close.
This post is still about what everyone did at home. First of all, the challenge of last time, 'Velvet Ribbons':

Jutta painted this gorgeous purple velvet bow tie and put it on blond hair to bring it out even more as they are complementary colours! That worked, well done!!

Funnily Marie-Jo must have had similar thoughts This aquarelle is all about contrast. The velvet is soft contrasting with the more rigid back of the ribbon and the satin, where the colour contrasts strongly with the yellow background...

Next to watercolours, Sue used  neon crayon to highlight the blue edges. This is a more 'free' painting but there is no doubt that the material is velvet!
In the Meantime...
Vanessa is designing a card for a baby boy that is soon to be born. How lovely already!!

Celina is still in Norway but with us in spirit, and producing wonderful work. Especially the forest, the Bluebell Forest is absolutely fabulous! The light, both on the trees and 'up there' is so full of atmosphere. Great stuff. Sylvester the cat is very well painted and has a lovely expression, you can almost hear him purr. By the way, it looks like Celina is now incorporating specks and dots in her work - which gives her determined style something very spontaneous! Looking forward to see more.
That was it for now. We start again in the Hangar on Thursday 21 May. Please mail me if you want to participate, it will be a try out for how to proceed. If you want you can, check the Hangar social distancing and other rules here
