Hand Fans in Watercolours - I'm a fan!!

We open with Anna Karin's watercolour of a hand fan - it is amazing, it is original, simple and very very well painted! I am so impressed

The subject that we have all been painting in the past week was 'Hand Fans' or 'éventail' for the rench Aquarellistas. It was certainly an inspiring subject - the results are very different, amazing, colourful, original inventive and beautiful! they all have a personal element in them. I so enjoyed seeing all these results, it makes me proud to be part of the group...

Michèle's fan is fabulous - the colours, the contrast it is so well done and different! Love it.

And how about this fluffy feather fan, so fragile and at the same time proud and even over the top! A great achievement from Ina (who does not paint often in watercolours

Ingrid's fan is there, complete with its little case. At first sight it looks so realistic, but it is actually very loosely painted. I love the wild splashes of paint in the background, as well as the colours and the pattern of the fan itself

Rosemarie - the Aquarellista who came up with the 'fan' of colours a couple of weeks ago, brought me the idea of this subject. She can be proud, looking at this page - and also of her fine and colourful version of the fan, with lovely free-flowing background!

An awesome and transparent delicate fan painted by Brenda. Special in many respects, playful, and in a gorgeous colour. She has so much talent!

We all know Sue loves to paint in a loose style - it is always a pleasure to see her version of the subject and her fan is no exception! It is very well done, so happy and colourful!

In the meantime...

Judith has been experimenting again this week, with very transparent violets, using a lot of layering - and as you can see a steady hand! The effect is quite spectacular and there is a lot going on there, everyone will see their own thing and for once I will shut up and let you interpret!

I can't wait to see the next developments...GO Judith!
