This is so strong and truly everybody is in awe about so much power in one painting.
Fantastic! When in doubt, Shirley: paint corn! In this case - in the wind (air)
Jutta embarked on another challenge, hundert Luftballons. This going to be so light, so airy and so much work! But a fantastic addition to the other paintings for the Hangar Art Contest
Janine has started with a heat balloon with waxine light. The sky is already done and looks great - and when it works out with the light it will be totally amazing! So proud!
Manuela just started with aquarelle and look at this - with the colours all in place, it definitely has depth and soft light in the balloon as well as an endless blue sky to fly in.
Geneviève created two air-inspired paintings, one of the pissenlit (dandelion) with it's subtle flying seeds, how airy can you get! And the other a transparent banner-set in the storm...
Sue's balloon - it is painted in typical Sue-style, with loose yet confident brush strokes. It is almost finished and the ultimate goal is to show the flame that heats the air in the balloon. Next time!!
Roxane painted this bird (Osprey? Eagle?) from one of her own photographs. It is already impressive, the details will make it even stronger. It really flies with determination.
This just in: proof for Jutta that it can be done with so many small balloons, by Michele, our correspondent in Bretagne. She lets us know that everything is fine and warm and calm over there. And that she had great fun with painting this!
Next to these impressive paintings about AIR there were other elements:
The start of an amazing idea of Martine that will combine fire and earth with water and air. Watch this space for coming developments!
Another original and creative combination of all elements: Thecla used the (triangular) symbols for the elements in a 6 pointed star. She used colour and positioning of the outer lines to represent. Clever!
Manuela's Earth-painting. Very good and so clever to add the little plant for some tenderness - and survival of nature!
A very 'Earthy' painting by Janine, and although she was inspired by an existing big heap of red stone and sand, it developed as an interesting and quite mysterious abstract! I want more of this!
Anna Karin's little yellow flowers, another aspect of Earth and something she just loves doing - with her big pointed brush. It is always spontaneous and sparkling with light!
All these different styles and interpretations!! I love it. Here is Martine's 'Warhol' version of Water... Fabulous, so flawlessly painted it looks like a silkscreen!
Monica is back - and how! She preferred 'water' as her sujet du jour and created this fantastic Ice Crystal. Using watercolour pencils on top of her blue background. Bravo!
Another amazing painting by Shirley! We are all in awe of this completey abstract yet immediately recognizable landscape. As Judith called it 'the winner of the day'!!
Monica brought her finished painting of last year's 'animals who are sorry for what they've done'.
It is so cute that I really wanted to post it. I think you agree 😃
Sonya finetuned her 'Water' painting. It is so good, balanced and transparent! Very well done.
Another breathtaking painting by Anna Karin, my picture doesn't do it justice because the colours are so delicate and at the same time intense - but still, you get the feeling, of volume and light and shadow.
Thecla's Earth, now finished! With a little bit of light and reflection added and that finishes everything and makes it complete... It was a long and intense project - but worth every minute (if you ask me 😎)
And last but by no means least, two very interesting and inspiring abstracts by Judith. One with determining lines and one with connecting threads.
Lots to see and interpret here - but for me they are at best in their abstract form, with beautiful colours
The group was so big last Tuesday, that I may have forgotten one or two photo's. I forgive myself, hope you do too! Please let me know if yours is missing and it will be posted in the next blog!
