EARTH - in Aquarelle Watercolours

Thecla has studied this for quite some time and created a version that is near-perfect. Only a bit of sparkly sunlight and then it's a fantastic, personal interpretation of all kinds of elements. the usual 'nature' ones, but also elements of the journey, of life, and towards the future...Well done in all respects!

Manuela unfortunately is a temporary Aquarellista because of her work-schedule but we do hope she will be able to join soon as she brings another interesting and original take on subjects. This is (unfinished) the start of a painting dedicated to 'Earth'... Love it!

Geneviève has somehow achieved a very much 'golden' mud (ochre and raw sienna) using salt that really worked this time! And the footstep in it is absolutely fantastic.

Sonya - who loves to be with her hands in the earth, (she is a fantastic exemplary gardener and my advisor, inspirator and provider of many home-grown veggies) really took to this weeks' subject! As you can see for yourself in the amazing painting. She also started an awesome painting of some truffles that was not enough finished to post...

Michèle has approached the subject in a different way, she has chosen to use Earth Colours! Clever choice and a lovely painting!!

Sue has experimented with painting on a canvas prepared with Watercolour Gesso. You have to getr used to the colours reacting differently, but it looks like she is going to do interesting things with it! Above a seascape-to-be...

plenty of earth and air in this painting by Anna Karin (she's back!) the flowers will get their yellow colouring next week, and then below an unfinished seascape! Lots of fun discussion in the group as to where the horizon is! If at all... What do you think? It will be determined next week, Anna Karin has not yet decided...

Martine has also returned and she tackled the element 'Water'. Original, serious and clever already! and wait until the masking comes off...

Jutta is working on a very big and interesting and complicated flower that will combine elements in a very personal and symbolic way. I look very much forward to seeing it develop further, she is so clever and understands so well what she is doing!

and we finish with the spheres-exercise by Manuela. It is so wonderful to see how different everybody interprets this, the colours they use, the preciseness (or not) and I am really happy to see those colours and understanding of the material.
