Erupting Volcanos in Watercolours

Just a short overview, of the Absolutely Amazing paintings of the Aquarellistas, on the theme 'Erupting Volanos'. Like last week we have treated the subject as an opportunity to paint 'light', using a dark background and contrasting colours - this time a bit (or a lot) more abstract! Well - see for yourselves... Great stuff!

Explosion and ashes by Shirley

Work in Progress by Anna: crater with hot lava

Anna Karin 1 - an active and an inactive crater...

Anna Karin II - So fantastic!

Powerful watercolour by Geneviève

A wonderful abstract eruption of fire with soft and poetic qualities - by Janine

Deeply impressed by this powerful amazing work painted by Shirley. Well done!!

A different take on light and dark - but equally breathtaking, this  full moon by Martine

And now for something different: Sylvie's Koi Carp. Now finished and so gorgeous, with the extra effect of the complementary colours! And in the half hour (if that) she had left, she painted this

Motivated by Judith who gave her a crash course, Thecla started with a negative painting experiment. That worked out very, very well.

Judith painted these two abstracts - using the dripping method. Both still in progress, but already interesting for me because of the contrast between the geometric shapes and the spontaneous splashes

And last but by no means least, Janine's big abstract, including finishing touches!

NB:This is a scheduled blogpost - if you sent in work after Tuesday the 8th 11pm it was not processed and will be published next week 😌
