A couple of weeks ago we were doing the last part of our 'Portraits in Aquarelle' project, when Corinne Bottoni of Nice Matin came in to interview Hangar President and Aquarellista Sylvie Morlière.
It resulted in an article with lots of mentions as well as a photo of us!
In English:
'Watercolours in the spotlight in the Hangar in Chateauneuf'
Le Hangar, an old agricultural building,, welcomes for a long time now, cultural and artistic manifestations under the aegis of an association whose spearhead is to promote the different forms of art through practical workshops, courses and presentations.
On Tuesdays, from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., there is a session devoted to watercolours.
The courses with about 15 students (all members of the association) are given by Marina Kulik, drawing teacher.
A particular technique is proposed by the teacher - painting your face, reflected in a mirror, without looking at the sheet on which you are drawing!
The results differ, the participants have created portraits, of which some were really surprisingly realistic and others pure fantasy.
Sylvie Morlière, president of the association 'Le Hangar, international art centre' has several projects in mind for the coming months. A conference around 'Proust and painting' , a trip to Arles and several exhibitions, to make this place more known to the general public.
And the president declares:
"Le Hangar is really a place imbued with great authenticity, where we enjoy meeting, to share moments of culture and conviviality and where the love of art and creation can flourish."
