Jellyfish - transparency and light in Watercolours

Last weeks' subject was 'Jellyfish' Love'em or hate them, they are beautiful and transparent, which makes them a great subject for watercolours!

Vanessa painted this beauty - so transparent, with gorgeous light, and supple arms and tentacles

Martine painted a whole school of tiny Jellyfish with the brightest light and great background.

What a fantastic Jellyfish is this! painted by Ingrid, in her brightly coloured style

This simple jellyfish was an experiment with lifting the paint and  that works too as you can see, would be suitable for a background

And now for something completely different:

Bev does her own thing - this time she worked on Sunflowers, imagine she had one fresh one to work from and created this a-ma-zing painting full of light!! And she did another one on Thursday, a rose this time - again with a lot of contrast and light

And then there were the Colourful Selfies and other projects...

Commission for Sylvie, she's so good at this - a portrait of Jim Morrison (you will have recognized him)

My colourful selfie for the expo (with smaller groups I can participate which is great fun too)

Judith's selfie in the Masking tape and -fluid stage, look forward to seeing the finished product next week, and below the portrait of her bro - with her signature beautiful light! Can't wait to see the next stage.

Sue's selfie is fabulous in many respects - colour, expression and resemblance!! Big compliment!!

Brenda painted a second selfie with other colours and although it is based on the same drawing as the first, it is so different! It is all in the colours...

Sandra is working on an expo and concentrating on the village of Cabris - the theme. This is the door of her neighbour's atelier. Fabulous painting!
