Reflection as the special feature in Bev's painting
The latest watercolour session was hosted by highly appreciated Aqurellista and my good friend Cathie. She proposed 'lotus flowers' or 'waterlilies' or 'nénuphars' as the subject. Above and below you can admire the results, as well as some portraits of Judith and a jellyfish-inspired painting and poem by Tony!
Fabulous colour in this lotus-painting by Anne
Michele painted Breton waterlilies with fabulous lights and shadows!
Judith's awesome and inspired portrait of her brother now finished - and she created a 'colourful selfie' - in an original way.
And the following Jelly fish-inspired watercolour was sent from the US by our mate Tony. He wrote a message that is so poetic - I post it with it:
I thought they were Jelly Fish
But then were told
They were Portuguese Man ‘o War
I was swimming in the sea off Sandy Bay near Budleigh Salterton in Devon
when this Armada appeared before me
I swam desperately back to the beach and luckily they didn’t catch me
They are poisonous and they swim in their thousands

most people have only ever seen on the beach not out at sea
They are named after the Portuguese fighting ship which they somehow look like
The ship is depicted on the horizon
The other ship is a ghost ship that drew itself
Sandy Bay has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with sand sand sand and by the lovely red cliffs are tide pools with Jelly Fish of which a blue one is bathing
Sand castles Punch and Judy deck chairs dogs and afternoon Devonshire cream teas are a delight
My brother made the canoe which we put to sea every summer
Man ‘o war like people enjoy the lovely sea that warms up by the sun…
