Create your version of... Dali's Elephants. In Watercolours.

From time to time we paint our own versions of a famous painting. Last session we used Salvador Dali's Elephants as example. The results are impressive, and especially the red, a very difficult colour to get across with watercolours because it often dries up bland and boring,  worked out in all paintings! I am very proud of us...

A personal version to start with, and it is the loveliest cutest elephant in the world, painted by Charlie. It is Work In Progress, can you imagine what it will look like when it is finished! Very original, watch this space for more!

And another very original take on the elephant painting - this one is quite abstract, painted by Judith (who else
😀) who is not afraid of a bit of experiment! Bravo!

Anne's WIP, closer to the Dali original! She used masking fluid, that took a long time to dry in this cold weather (even here) and she chose to paint one elephant, but with the typical very long legs! Next week finished picture! Looking forward to seeing that.

Martine also used masking fluid and I already said to her, it actually looks exciting with the white! Like a silkscreen print. She will decide next time what she'll do, whatever happens, the sky is fabulous, and also a coloured elephant will contrast with it.

Roxane painted this awesome sky and foreground and decided to keep it like thist. Someone compared it to the work of Georgia O'Keeffe and I can understand why. It doesn't need an elephant. And that red!

There was much more, more elephants and dragons by Gail and Erica, but I didn't take the picture somehow, SO sorry! They were good! Hopefully next week.
And then work on other subjects. Awesome and impressive and original:

There were two more dragons, this one by Anna Karin, isn't it amazing?!
I love the dragon but also the strong and beautiful style as well as the composition.
It will be finished in 2 weeks, watch this space,

Charlie's dragon, other style, other colours and so fantastic!! If you look close or enlarge the picture you can see that she actually used glitter paint, a present from her kids!

A completely different subject but no less fabulous, Kurt Cobain by Sandra.
With lots of beautiful writing and a symbolic plant next to it. Love the expression.

Judith was on a roll last session. This absolutely breathtaking landscape, that we all admired and that calmed us down just by looking at it, was painted pretty fast, in a couple of transparent soft coloured layers on top of each other. Fab!

To continue the Judith show, earlier she had picked up a felt pen and completely changed two of her drippy experiments. Very cool!
And so 'Zen' to do, give it a try, highly recommended

Above: Thecla's 'happy place' , the kind of painting she goes to if you switch her on and below, a happy memory part 2, the amazing sunrise on Wednesday. Looking brilliant, but there will most likely be an even better Part 3 ...

Roxane loves birch trees and has painted another one in the past week, what a great atmosphere it has!
