Last session of the season - 2 Taylor Swift portraits, 3 cows and 16 spheres

30 July, the last Watercolour session in the Hangar! We were 5 and we had a fabulous session in the air-conditioned space while the sun burnt everything away (heatwave in the South of France). Amazing how much energy there was. The subject was portraits of Taylor Swift, but only 2 of us actually tried it. We will revisit it later as a real lesson, about shapes and proportions...

Here's Anna's quick version. I love what she did, and I love the expression. From this example:

Inspired by Anna, Marina (me) also painted a quick version of a Taylor Swift portrait. Not over the moon with it but the colours are kinda nice.

More points for Anne, who painted this lovely very fine luminous jellyfish or 'Meduse'.

As well as the finished version of Anna's sunglasses! So simple, so strong. We agreed she should make a whole series of them, in different colours. To be continued!

Avril loves working in acrylics and painted these cows in that medium.

And the WIP of a saxophonist below is also by Avril

And last but by no means least,  here are the spheres of Jo, a new aquarellista, who has this fantastic talent - and works like a scientist! I love the mathematics, she has thought of everything. We are looking very much forward to seeing her again soon!

NB: Just a reminder before we close for the holidays - Sandra and Julie's exhibition in Cabris, opening on Monday 5 August!! Come and visit, it has generous opening hours, every day!
